This is one hundred percent false. Israel launched an attack on Arab neighbors in 1967 starting the Six Days War. This idiot wants to lecture kids and he doesn’t know a goddamn thing, just spouting rank propaganda.
The Vigilant Fox 🦊@VigilantFox

BILL MAHER: “Young people who learn everything about Israel on TikTok, they don’t know sh*t.” “And [Democrats] are not standing up and saying, ‘Kids, you don’t know what’s going on here.’” “Every war Israel has fought is a war of defense. Every war, they were attacked first.”

Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, the highest-ranking Christian leader in the Holy Land, and the heir of the See of St. James the brother of Jesus, critisizes the disgusting misuse of Christian Scriptures to justify geopolitical support of the nation state of Israel.

Clips like this are incredibly frustrating to me bc they make it out like the really bad part of this story is “Netanyahu funding Hamas.” That’s not the scandal. The scandal is WHY Qatar and Netanyahu had to fund Hamas: And that’s because for the last 19 years and counting, the state of Israel, regardless of who ran the government, has imposed a TOTAL air, land and sea blockade on the Gaza Strip. They have prohibited the free movement of people and products. They have instituted complete control over trade, commerce and the production of goods and services. Israel was, and still is, occupying both Gaza and the West Bank. And as the occupying power they are obligated under international law to provide necessities. But because it’s Israel, of course they refuse to pay for that. So for decades the onus has fallen on Muslim countries and allies of Palestinians in the region. Before 2012 Hamas leadership was in Syria. At the start of the Syrian war, the US asked Qatar to host Hamas instead. Qatar, wanting to curry favor with the US, agreed. Those “payments to Hamas” have gone mostly towards paying Israel for the electricity they provide to Gaza ($10 million/month) and operation of the government facilities in Gaza like schools and hospitals. So the scandal here is how “the only Democracy in the Middle East” has spent decades holding millions captive in an open air prison, guarded by robotic machine guns and denied them basic human rights why shaking down other countries to pay for it all.

We don’t need a strategic crude reserve because we are a NET EXPORTER. Strategic crude reserves only truly make sense for NET IMPORTERS. In a SEVERE global disruption, net exporters BAN/CURTAIL exports & direct produced volumes to local use.
servant of Allah@alouibrahim92

Nigeria should learn from the current energy crisis facing the world as a result of the war between The US, Israel & Iran, to start keeping as a matter of NatSec, strategic Crude reserves, so as to stabilize the domestic consumption market in times of severe global disruptions.

Once again, pro-Palestine people keep talking as if Israel were in the same position as South Africa toward the end of Apartheid, but that's very misleading and mostly wishful thinking. I don't say that because I think Israel treats Palestinians better than South Africa treated Blacks under Apartheid, which it doesn't, but because the demographic situation is very different and that makes the current power arrangement in Israel/Palestine viable in a way Apartheid wasn't. Whites in South Africa were a small minority and the economy and they were entirely dependent on Black labor, whereas Jews have achieved demographic parity in Palestine and their dependence on Palestinian labor is much smaller. Ultimately, it is this which forced them to end Apartheid, much more than international sanctions, which only worked insofar as they made an already untenable arrangement even harder to sustain. In a way, Apartheid failed because it rested on a separation between Whites and Blacks that, for economic reasons, wasn't possible. The Israelis on the other hand can absolutely maintain this separation.
Vincent Bevins@Vinncent

In the final years of South African Apartheid, the white government decided it must 1) overthrow the government of Angola 2) install a puppet regime in Namibia 3) attack Zimbabwe 4) attack Botswana 5) attack Zambia in order to survive. This did not work

The “If not for Dangote refinery, Nigeria would have been seeing scarcity of petroleum products” geng left the group chat. India has 20+ refineries but is still experiencing scarcity. Capacity of Indian refineries ~8x that of Dangote refinery: ~5.5mln bpd vs ~0.7mln bpd

Nominal GDP is a terrible way to measure a state like Russia, and it's one of the reasons poorly informed Western pundits keep misreading the country. On PPP, it’s the world's 4th largest economy (over $7 trillion) and bigger than Germany or Japan, with full-spectrum industrial capacity. That’s not a "middle power." Russia can build nuclear submarines, icebreakers and nuclear power plants, launch people into space, produce advanced weapons, export energy at scale and, perhaps most crucially, feed and fuel itself. Italy can’t.
Dan O'Brien@danobrien20

'great powers, including China, Russia, and the United States'. Russia is not close to being a great power - it's economy is smaller than Italy's. What differentiates it from middle powers like Italy is its willingness to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of its people in imperial wars, and Russians' willingness to be sacrificed. Comparing Russia to the two superpowers is common, but it is a category error of epic proportions.

@_SuperPiz Why I said earlier I was surprised he rode in it. The V-class usually transports VIPs in the presidential convoy to big gatherings like last nite but not the actual President. If u noticed, his OG Bisi Akande was the first to come down

@_SuperPiz Better angle from TVC. His bad knee probably a factor in why he doesn't do sedans like past presidents but the V-class actually cuts convoys & saves space in such scenarios m.youtube.com/watch?v=69UVeo…

Israel bombed major civilian infrastructure in Iran yesterday, including the largest steel plant in the Middle East. 1000s of families affected. None of that is featured on @nytimes main page so far. Instead, the focus is on "Iranian war propaganda". What an absolute disgrace.

@_SuperPiz The base V-class bulletproof like under ~$200k so his with all the whistles & bells likely tops out at ~$300k- cheaper than the Escalade or more expensive S-Class Maybach. A little geeked out on official convoys so been wanting a governor to switch to the V-Class
