Ia tampak menyerang pria lansia yang sudah terduduk lemas di aspal jalanan. ​Situasi sempat mencekam saat pria gondrong tersebut berkali-kali mengayunkan tangannya ke arah korban sambil meneriakkan kalimat takbir. Beruntung, seorang pria lain berbaju merah segera datang untuk mencoba melerai dan melindungi korban yang sudah tidak berdaya. ​Sejumlah pengendara motor dan mobil yang melintas tampak memperlambat laju kendaraan mereka, namun beberapa terlihat ragu untuk mendekat karena pelaku membawa senjata. Hingga berita ini diturunkan, belum diketahui secara pasti motif di balik aksi penyerangan tersebut. ​"Kejadiannya sangat cepat, tiba-tiba sudah ada keributan di depan rumah sakit. Pria yang lebih muda tampak sangat emosi," ujar salah satu saksi mata di lokasi kejadian. ​Pihak kepolisian setempat dilaporkan tengah mendalami video tersebut dan melakukan penyelidikan lebih lanjut untuk mengamankan pelaku serta mengetahui kondisi korban. Warga diimbau untuk tetap tenang dan tidak terprovokasi oleh informasi yang belum jelas kebenarannya di media sosial.
