Gorgeous George, with Bob Hope as his valet, vs. Hollywood actor, Burt Lancaster. Silent footage from the St. John’s Hospital Guild circus benefit at the Pan-Pacific Grounds in Los Angeles. The show raised more than $175,000 for a new 100-bed hospital wing. September 4 1948

The final clip has Bob Hope interfering in the match, someone shoots a gun, and then they all do a waltz to close out the clip. Absolutely amazing footage.
