Grok says the middle class tax rate is being reduced from 15% to 14% with an average savings of $850. That would imply that the average middle class tax filer makes $85k/year and pays 15% in federal taxes which is a higher average middle class income than the USA and a lower average tax rate. All I hear is how Canada taxes are sooo bad but after seeing this I'm wishing for Canadian taxes and I know a LOT of people that would prefer the Canadian average middle class income. We pay over 20% federal, 13% state, 9.75% combined sales tax 6.5 state, 1.25 county, 2% city and that's bumped up to 18% for luxury, hotel, and alcohol sales tax, then .66% property tax, 1% personal property, 1% real estate, & 1% commercial personal property. The fucked up things is that all of these taxes except federal are taken from income that's already been taxed a min of once and by the last one it's already been taxed 7-8 times. If you dare to realize profits on an investment, win something, or someone dies and leaves you something then you're talking about up to 50% additional taxes. At least in Canada they get healthcare, parental leave, workers rights, etc. In the US we just get the luxury of paying the most in the world for the worst coverage of any country, unpaid parental leave but only for mom's, Right to Work laws that actually strip workers of their rights. Some people in Canada and European countries have no idea how good they have it and unfortunately most people in the US don't realize how bad they're getting screwed because they've been brainwashed with the "greatest country in earth", Capitalism at all cost, and " pick yourself up by the bit straps" propaganda and think that getting anything from the government in exchange for taxes is socialism and therefore so bad that you should be against getting anything for your money.
