@FullOfGraceUS Obama didn't "give" them money. It was already theirs. This lie has been debunked so many times even MAGA has mostly stopped using it. Iran's assets were frozen during a deal back in Reagan days, they fulfilled their part and the US had to fulfill our part by returning their $.

To be clear: Obama didn’t “give” them 1.7 billion. Iran paid America that sum for arms they ultimately never received because of the 1979 revolution. Iran filed a criminal case against America at the Hague to retrieve their money. After realizing America was about to lose that case, Obama decided to give Iran their own money back as a sweetener to the deal. As for the “pallets of cash” that was the only way to give Iran the cash due to sanctions on Iranian bank accounts. It’s worth knowing the actual background as nobody seems to.
