Today in history- March 23 1991-the start of Sierra Leone’s rebel war. We remember the names- those who were killed and injured on this day 35 years ago in the first rebel attack in Bomaru town, Kailahun district. We say never again.

On March 23, 2026 we commemorated the attack on Bomaru that culminated into an 11 year civil war in Sierra Leone with the opening of a civil war museum in Lungi.
