The newly appointed President of Stony Brook University Dr. Andrea Goldsmith, visited Madagascar and CVB in January. She was accompanied by her husband, Dr. Arturo Salz, her Chief of Staff, Jennifer Almquist and Scott Barrett, Stony Brook’s Interim Vice President for Advancement.

On 11th February we celebrated the International Day of Women and Girls in Science 👩‍🔬 We are proud to count over 50 women researchers, students and staff members currently working with Centre ValBio, and we hope that this number will keep increasing in the years to come.

Centre ValBio welcomed MANESIMANA Michaël, Madagascar’s newly appointed Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development, MANANTENA Haja Dina, the Deputy of the Ifanadiana region, RAKOTOARISOA Ony, the General Director of Madagascar National Parks and their entourages.

Last month, we had the honor of hosting the remarkable Dr. Iris de Winter and her team at Centre ValBio 🙌 Dr. de Winter, director of the Apenheul Primate Conservation Trust, spent time with local #schoolchildren and documented the initiatives led by the CVB #education team.

Congratulations to the eight students from Stony Brook University’s Winter 2026 Study Abroad group who just completed their time at @centrevalbio! We wish them a safe journey back home, and we look forward to hopefully seeing them all again in the future at our research campus.
