Today, we honor the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His message of peace, equality, and justice continues to inspire us as we work toward a better world for all. While our 25 full-staffed fire stations remain open and ready to serve today, Cherokee County government offices, including Fire Headquarters, are closed in observance of MLK Jr. Day. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community, today and every day.

Today, we joined fire service members from across Georgia at the 2025 Memorial Service in Forsyth, GA to honor those we’ve lost. Fire Chief Robinson and Deputy Chief Orr laid candles in memory of FAO Nevin O’Hearn and Sgt. Chris King. We will never forget. #HonoringOurFallen

Every second counts. Every life matters. That’s why Cherokee Fire trains hard — from high-angle rescues to collapse scenarios. No weak links. Just aggressive, purpose-driven firefighters. We don’t rise to the occasion — we rise above it.
