We had a lovely afternoon learning about Inuit culture during our unity afternoon! We learnt about their diet, homes, clothing, travel and language. We then looked the artist Kenojuak Ashevak and had a go at replicating some of her work ✏️🎨 @OrchardPrimaryA #Unity #Culture

We had a very informative visit from @WestYorksPolice this afternoon who spoke to us about being safe online and how to use our devices safely 📱💻👮🏻‍♀️👮🏽@OrchardPrimaryA @TeamPastoral

Our WBD activities continued this afternoon! We looked at the illustrations in ‘The Promise’ and had a go at drawing some city scenes of our own. We also recycled our milk cartons and planted cress 🪴✏️ @OrchardPrimaryA @TeamPastoral @WorldBookDayUK

We really enjoyed reading The Promise by Nicola Davies this morning. We had some lovely discussions about the moral of the story, answered questions in guided reading and wrote some excellent setting descriptions in English @OrchardPrimaryA @TeamPastoral @WorldBookDayUK 📚✏️

5 Chestnut have enjoyed our activities for NSPCC number day! We looked at 3D shapes and shape nets and then designed and made the packaging for an existing or new product @TeamPastoral @OrchardPrimaryA #NSPCCNumberDay #NSPCC

We used Rekenreks to help us start adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators this morning in maths. We looked at how we could show 1/2 + 1/4 @OrchardPrimaryA #MathsAtOrchard

We recapped different emergency services and carried out some role play for different scenarios for calling 999 this morning in our @WYP_PolEd session. @TeamPastoral

5 Chestnut have been looking at how to look after their mental health this afternoon. We have learnt how to care for plants, completed some mindful activities and meditation and we went to 2 Willow to read to the Year 2 pupils. #MentalHealthAwareness
