Former Guantanamo prisoner Tariq El Sawah has passed away after years of suffering. He was held for nearly 15 years without trial, enduring torture and force-feeding. Interrogators and psychologists experimented on him, pushing him toward false confessions. All charges against him were dismissed in 2012, and he was cleared for release in 2015. Despite this, he was left in Sarajevo by the U.S. government without legal status, medical care, or support, and was rendered stateless. He spent his final years battling severe health issues, ultimately passing away in a coma. His case remains a stark example of injustice, marked by wrongful imprisonment, abandonment, and a lack of accountability. May Allah elevate his rank and grant him the reward of a martyr (shahid). May Allah grant patience and comfort to his family and loved ones.
