#grassroots football isn’t just about getting a team of lads on a pitch to play football it’s so much more, yes there’s physical benefit but also from a mental, social & local community well-being perspective, all this gets lost when teams disappear.. so sad to see it’s demise 😢

How sad #grassroots football is nearly dead Ashtonians used to have 4 teams (As did @newtonfcdotcom ) local rivalry between the 2 was legendary.. Ashtonians gone & Newton down to 1 side 🙈🤷🏼‍♂️ equates to at least 110 less players locally each week Yet prem sides don’t give a damn
