@minakimes @danorlovsky7 my first landlord in Boston was the owner/operator of a local hardware store. had to close due to competition with big-box store. told me stories of neighbors coming in for advice before buying the hardware at the big-box store to save a couple bucks. 🤷

@mtgtdhndshk @minakimes agree. also, each time he contorted his body in the air and crashed to the turf, I caught myself holding my breath.

@minakimes I don’t think he trusts his speed like he did before his catalog of leg injuries, otherwise he would have domesticated that boundary and scored. Yesterday I saw him being much more physical and aggressive at the ball, which was beyond encouraging.

@bldoyle89 @AaronJFentress @Leg_baseball At the same time, I think the affect of the new guidance on the game is overblown. As the original post suggests, the athletes will adjust and the game will be, IMO, better.

@bldoyle89 @AaronJFentress @Leg_baseball It may sound cynical, but I think the new guidance on the base-blocking rules are probably less about the personal risks to the athletes and more the financial risks to the teams with guaranteed contracts.

@bldoyle89 @AaronJFentress @Leg_baseball that's fair, injuries are always going to be part of baseball. and I get that you miss the way that the game used to be played (back in the day). but I would think you could understand measures/efforts to improve the safety and productivity of athletes (with $100M contracts)

He stated it was a clean play, just part of the game. These things happen. Better to accept it than compromise the product. 🤷‍♂️

@AaronJFentress @Leg_baseball Sorry but you're so completely off base it's not even funny. The only thing this new rule does is make it impossible to throw out a runner stealing a base. MLB wanted to increase offense, well what better way to do that than making easier to advance into scoring position
