the train that joins friends and unites the anxious

“The critics mainly consisted of Lafayette Square residents who oppose Metro tunneling underneath their Mid-City historic district” Utter insanity that ~30-50ppl can delay a regional mass transit line for something objectively false. Tunneling 80-120ft below em’ does NOTHING.

I’m seeing a lot of anti red line extension discourse—didn’t we as a city *just* spend 580 million dollars to knock down a lakeview city block in order to save some of the city’s richest residents :30 per trip?

Such a massive own goal that the CTA is pursuing a super expensive vanity redesign of the State/Lake station that doesn't address connectivity to the red/blue lines underneath or attempt to add transit-oriented amenities

This, as much as any other reason, is why housing is expensive and bad. Our codes have grown far more than our homes. Giles has done really good work here.

“urbanist slop” is apt. 🇨🇭has the ideal rail geography; Everyone lives along a single axis. Similar in 🇯🇵

Audible gasps from the crowd at Sen. Adam Schiff’s Hollywood hearing when he says that from 2022 to 2024 L.A. County lost 42,000 motion picture industry jobs.
