@timmy_fisher @CrossEyedPiano yes a great many solo keyboard concertos, for harpsichord and for organ, in the 18th century. it was a popular genre

@timmy_fisher @ClassicalPod I’d be interested to know but would assume not. The orchestral statement of the main subject was quite well-bedded into the form on the previous decades.
