From this mornings D1 Ticker Louisiana Tech is finalizing an agreement to pay a record-setting exit fee to leave Conference USAfor the Sun Belt this summer, according to Front Office Sports' David Rumsey, who notes that while the specific figure remains unknown, the Bulldogs will pay more than the $8M UTEP recently agreed to pay to join the Mountain West. Rumsey also notes that a Conference USA spokesperson pushed back against local media outlets claiming the transaction was completely finished and clarified the exact legal status of the ongoing negotiations: "Both parties remain in settlement negotiations, but an agreement has not been finalized—contrary to the Bleed Tech Blue report."
