Sadly our rider @georgenbennett tested positive for Covid-19 and will not continue today in the #TDF2022. On Monday he was tested as per internal protocols of the team and returned a positive result. This was confirmed by a PCR test.

Gutted to see this. Top notch hospital, the Mayo Clinic, has published a public letter, pleading with the public to please get vaccinated and wear a mask, to protect the hospital from further overwhelm.

Coaching a high-performer is like having a stallion.
You want to coach them up to be better, to maximize their effort, but you don't want to train or control them so much that they lose what makes them great.
It's a balance between holding back and letting them explore.

Leaders and Head Coaches have a tough job and it can be lonely. But we are all in this together. So while their immediate staff are the Leader’s or Head Coach’s responsibility, the Head Coach or Leader is theirs. That way we are there for each other.

Your body's waves of readiness to load are not always entirely predictable. Sometimes you'll hit an extended period of no waves. During these periods you can waste your energy fruitlessly paddling to nowhere or you can just chill in the sun, readying for the next perfect wave.

I love the fact we are distributing $$ to athletes, however, how about a fair, early decision @worldtriathlon??? or what about distributing it on last year's ranking, or more evenly across NSO's to support all athletes struggling this year??

@trisutto @worldtriathlon It is awesome to have a world champs within a Pandemic. However, two weeks notice to all athletes/federations is farcical. I've yet to see a PCR protocol from them, they can't confirm if all athletes could enter the country, and what if they have to quarantine??

Breaking news from ITU
The World Triathlon Series is continually being watered down to a joke. There has been no one day World Championship since 2008, & they now make a knee jerk agreement at the executive table to break all of its own ITU conventions

If one needed to self isolate on arrival, how would they do this in time to race?? @worldtriathlon how is it fair to make this decision so late?

2020 World Triathlon Champions to be crowned at WTS Hamburg.
With Hamburg remaining the only WTS event of 2020, the decision was made to award the World Championship Titles in this race. Start list quotas will be increased to 10 athletes per gender.
