The most unsettling AI take I've read is that it allows wealth to access skill while removing from the skilled the ability to access wealth, and I'm not entirely sure it's wrong.

A few years ago people worried AI would take their jobs. Now governments are worried the wrong people might get access to it.

@EagleCorp @MiniMax_AI What stands out about MiniMax M3 is the flexibility. Pairing that with a 1M-token context window is seriously impressive.

Today, @MiniMax_AI unveiled MiniMax M3, bringing together frontier coding performance, agentic capabilities, native multimodality, and a 1M-token context window in a single open-weights model. We're proud to see MiniMax M3 powered by an open-source speculator built by the @inferact team on top of Hongyang Zhang's EAGLE-3 algorithm from Eagle Corp, helping bring faster, production-grade inference to one of the most capable open models released today. Inferact/MiniMax-M3-EAGLE3 is a 3.3B-parameter draft model trained with TorchSpec’s online speculative decoding framework, combining FSDP training with live vLLM target inference to learn directly from MiniMax-M3 responses and hidden states while preserving the base model’s exact token distribution. Served end-to-end with vLLM, it leverages EAGLE-3’s shared embedding and LM head architecture to deliver efficient, production-grade inference acceleration at scale. Explore the open-source EAGLE-3 speculator powering MiniMax M3 on @huggingface: huggingface.co/Inferact/MiniM…

🚨 Plot twist: The push to shut down Anthropic's most advanced models reportedly came from a rival AI company alleging it could crack Mythos's defenses. Not China.

> be Juan Hernandez > move to the U.S. from Mexico and learn welding for better opportunities > a friend mentions a place called SpaceX > "I have no idea what SpaceX is, but sure" > take the job for $28/hour, not because of the mission > receive $10,000 worth of company stock > spend the next decade welding rockets and buying more shares every paycheck > leave last year and start building rockets for Bezos at Blue Origin > SpaceX goes public at $135 in the biggest IPO in history > your 6,500 shares are suddenly worth more than $1 million He became a millionaire from Musk's rockets while working for Bezos. The only guy who truly won the billionaire space race.

🚨 THE UK WANTS TO SCAN CONTENT ON YOUR PHONE BEFORE IT'S ENCRYPTED. Critics say the government is pushing for technology that would scan content directly on users' devices before messages are encrypted. Supporters argue it's about protecting children. Opponents warn it sets a dangerous precedent. > The proposed system would inspect photos, videos, and messages before end-to-end encryption takes effect. > Signal has previously threatened to leave the UK rather than implement what it considers a backdoor. > Europe's age-verification efforts have already raised concerns after security flaws exposed sensitive user data. > One verification system leaked more than 70,000 IDs and selfies in a single breach. The argument isn't just about privacy anymore. It's about who gets to decide what happens on your personal devices. George Orwell wrote 1984 as a warning. Many believe the real challenge is making sure it doesn't become a blueprint.

🚨 SAMSUNG'S OWN WARRANTY MAY HAVE JUST COME BACK TO BITE THEM. Louis Rossmann's 4TB SSD failed while still under warranty. Samsung offered him a $330 refund, claiming they had no replacement units available. There's just one problem. The exact same drive is still being sold through Samsung's Amazon store for $949. And according to Samsung's own warranty terms, if they can't provide a replacement, they're supposed to reimburse the product's current market value. > He originally paid $330 for the 990 Pro less than two years ago. Today, the same drive sells for nearly 3× more. > Samsung cited a memory shortage while listing the exact model for sale online. > Their warranty explicitly references the product's "then current market value." > Rossmann says he's giving Samsung 60 days before taking the case to Travis County small claims court. They wrote the policy. They just never expected the market price to triple.
