The Colorado River District’s mission is to lead in the protection, conservation, use, and development of the water resources of the CO River water basin for the welfare of the District, and to safeguard for Colorado all waters of the CO River to which the state is entitled.

#community The Town of Carbondale’s Crystal River Restoration Project has completed the in-channel restoration efforts and is currently restoring about 900 feet of stream bank on the Crystal River.

#community The Colorado River District recently provided a $207,500 emergency grant to the East Mesa Water Company to repair three large sinkholes that rendered the East Mesa Ditch inoperable. The East Mesa Ditch serves 11 agricultural shareholders in the Crystal Valley.
