A big shout out to @theadvocatebr for its editorial today recognizing 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲-𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗹𝗮𝘄 that addresses distracted driving. Last year, at a news conference to kick off National Distracted Driving Awareness month, I announced our intent to 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 while driving. I said, “During this year's legislative session, we will introduce a bill to address and reduce distracted driving by banning handheld wireless devices while driving.” Thanks to 𝗥𝗲𝗽. It was a festive time last night when the 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 welcomed me to their annual Christmas Party. Everyone was in good spirits, recognizing that progress is being made to improve Louisiana's insurance market.

It is great to be On the Road meeting so many folks. Thank you to everyone who gave me such a warm welcome!

I visited with @ParishSheriff 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 today and took a tour of their Emergency Operations Center. The community will be greatly served by this facility during/after future catastrophic events.

What an amazing group of people! It was an honor to join the 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮 yesterday at their annual meeting.

Thank you to State Representative @MikeBayham and @TalbotforLA for inviting me to speak to residents of Chalmette about insurance and the work being done to lower rates. One example is the great work done by 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝘆 and others to upgrade the Parish’s Building Code Effectiveness Classification. A joint investigation by our Anti-Fraud Team and @LAStatePolice has resulted in the arrest of a Monroe man who is accused of staging crashes to collect insurance payments. 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 @𝗟𝗔𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 that drives up the cost of insurance for all Louisiana drivers and puts innocent people at risk.
