@EcoTechBro And yet, lower case c communalist means and ends-- Bookchin's non electoral and arguably most essential part of his worldview even as his view increasingly supports his municipalist electoralism by end of his life-- still has too much to offer to inform means+ends and org dualism

@EcoTechBro Both in its fullness, dialectical back and forth relations of specific and mass org, its determinate features of how specific org functions, determinate functions of specific org in relation to pop org etc. + its lack of Bookchin's city gov approach (so crucial to B's vanguard)/2

There's a particular point of usufruct collective's "communalism and especifismo" that still bothers me, even though I'm not a communalist any more that claims what makes especifist communalism distinct from classical communalism is the specific organization.

Meanwhile we need a coherent anti-war/anti imperialist movement but we are not going to get that as long as such absurd groups lead the charge. /4

In the USA, we have campist/tankie groups and dem party groups leading mass movements country wide. From the PSL to the DSA. So alienating to those who know better. So sad for those fooled into being pawns of such dead ends + hierarchical means/ends. /3

Some major social movement dead ends: 1. state approaches to socialism (revolutionary OR reformist) 2. Identity fetishism/reductionism/essentialism 3. campism. ^This stuff literally destroys libertarian/egalitarian thrusts of social movements by destroying them internally. /1

@EcoTechBro such a viewpoint, however 1 may evaluate it or how we conceptualize communalism distinct from Bookchin, is not reducible to either Bookchin nor generic org-dualism (and is informed in part by existing relations of ideologically specific groups to community assemblies) /5

@EcoTechBro We also see communalism (in sense of communal assemblies) as 1 means among many but not only or merely that; we also see it as constitutive of ends-- and as related means to develop overtime through prefiguration/reconstruction/opposition. /4

@EcoTechBro and yet still: Bookchin's approach to specific groups can be updated through ridding local gov elections from Bookchin's strategy+more fully articulating social work and social insertion+relations between specific groups and pop groups+adding other spheres for work/insertion /2
