From today Family Farms and Businesses are subject to inheritance tax You can’t farm without land, and you can’t run a business without assets. Forcing families to sell off pieces of their livelihood just to pay a tax bill will lead to national decline.

Today, rural Britain begins to die. By 2035, Labour will have made 🪫 2% of our farmland under solar panels 🐄 9% of land lost from food production 🗺️ A civil servant's map to tell you what you can farm 🤝 A socialist land grab that lets activists seize control of your farm Destroying generations of history and the nation's food security with it.

Today I launched England’s Land Use Framework, providing a clear blueprint for making best use of the land we have. It will help: 🏡Build new homes 🌾Guarantee food security ⚡Deliver clean energy 🌳Restore nature Creating a prosperous future for generations to come.

Reform is undoubtedly courting the UK rural vote — but are farmers buying it? 🤔🇬🇧 Shadow Defra Secretary @VictoriaAtkins says a Government under Nigel Farage would be ‘no better for farming than Labour’. READ MORE: farmersguardian.com/blog/4526294/e…

Truly honoured to take on the National Chair of the @ConRuralForum. @LizzieHacking was a formidable force in reshaping the organisation. I look forward to working with our members to make sure rural policy is top of the agenda, and hold Governments of any colour to account.

🚜🇬🇧When customers pick up a food product flying the Union Jack or labelled “Made in Britain” they should be able to trust that it truly is British. We @Conservatives will close the flag loophole so that food origin labelling is clearer, helping shoppers #BackBritishFarming🚜🇬🇧

A bad calving, dreadful TB test but an hour in the pub with friends does wonders for the soul. I’ve fought to lower business rates and secured a partial U-turn, but it’s not enough. Conservatives will abolish business rates for hospitality. Once a pub is gone, it’s gone for good

Did you know that food which displays the Union Jack doesn’t have to actually be made in Britain? That’s absurd. The next Conservative government will change the rules, end the loophole, and Back British Farmers.

We should all eat British food wherever we can. When customers choose to buy British, selecting a product either bearing the Union Jack flag or saying ‘Made in Britain’, it should mean exactly that. Currently, food grown overseas – yet merely assembled or packaged here – CAN fly the flag or be described as ‘British’. Today, I am announcing that the @Conservatives will CLOSE the flag loophole and make food origin labelling clearer, so that consumers can be SURE that they’re buying British food which is actually grown and produced in our country. British farmers and food producers are crucial to our nation’s food security, feeding the nation with high-standard produce. By making origin labelling clearer and simpler, we can encourage consumers to eat more British-made food and in doing so, support our farmers. Let’s eat for Britain!

Spain exports FOUR times more foodstuff INTO the UK than they buy from us and has an outbreak of African swine fever. So this is: ❌ Bad for farmers ☣️ Bad for bio-security ⚠️ and ⚖️ Bad for the balance of payments.
Cabinet Office@cabinetofficeuk

Once finalised, our new 🇬🇧🇪🇺 food and drink deal will make it easier for British shoppers to buy Spanish produce and reduce the barriers to great UK companies selling in Spain and the rest of Europe.

Nigel likes Ben’s ideas. Food security is national security. Trading farms for wolves and rewilded scrubland is a financier’s fantasy. While Reform takes advice from the London elite, the Conservatives will always listen to British farmers.

Labour MP blames Brexit for food price increases. The reality? It’s his own government increasing energy costs, hiking wage bills, new regulations hurting confidence and now adding packaging and fertiliser taxes. Either he’s lying, or he isn’t fit to be an MP.
Luke Charters MP@lukejcr

Food inflation skyrocketed after the Tories & Reform’s botched Brexit. 😐 So I’m campaigning to bring prices down and cut the cost of living, starting with a UK favourite: the meal deal. 🥪 It’s time to give something back to the grafters out getting their lunch. ✅

Rural Britain is under attack by this Labour government - and our farmers are feeling the brunt of their disastrous decisions. They see it and they feel it both financially and emotionally. Government should work with our farmers - not against them. We will put food security at the heart of all government policy decisions. And that starts with ensuring the Family Farm and Family Business Tax is scrapped in full. Great to be in Tiverton, Devon meeting with many of our hardworking farming community - discussing how we can make Rural Britain work.

Out supporting the Sinnington trail hunt today in Kirkbymoorside. This is a core part of our tradition here in North Yorkshire. Labour proving time and time again, they simply do not understand rural areas.
