@aboutlearning @MichaelRosenYes I agree. I just returned to headship in a maintained school in @LincolnshireCC and the challenge and support is outstanding.

@MichaelRosenYes I couldn’t agree more @MichaelRosenYes - I worked in schools for a local authority for 35 years, 18 of which as a primary school headteacher and although I was a maverick HT & therefore a major thorn in their side, the help, support and guidance we received in schools was great.

If every school is going to be an academy, this unleashes onto the whole education system, the nationwide fixing of a layer of management that operates to different rules from the ones operating in local authorities. Likewise, the rules pertaining to the uses of school property
