So, let me reiterate as the person outside the industry:
I’m the fan.
I’m the one you’re trying to entertain.
And I am telling you clearly: I love the art, I love the drama, I love the wildness… but I am not here to watch you die for my fun.
The ugly part of this business is built on exactly the opposite assumption: that we, fans, are bloodthirsty, that we want trainwrecks, that the only way to hold our attention is to keep escalating how close to catastrophe you get.
So let me stand up and push against that lie: “No, my pop is not worth your neck. Next time someone suggests you a stupid bump, remember this: not everyone is here for the gladiator shit.”
You don't have to like my tweet, you don't have to agree with it, you don't have to care about my opinion, but if my tweet lands in your head as “oh, people do notice the danger when we get dropped on our necks,” then I have done my part.
