How many times have I posted about the bombing of my city? Hundreds, probably. Russia has systematically and intentionally terrorized us from day one of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. It's completely overlooked, as if it would somehow go away if the press and politicians didn't talk about it. It's mind-blowing to me, yet it worked. It's become the norm. All eyes should be on a country in Europe whose population faces daily terror beyond imagination after being forced to disarm and promised security. All talks should be about how to repel that terror. Yet we discuss how the war in Ukraine is inconvenient. It destabilizes the economy, and you're annoyed by the beggars from Ukraine—those "stupid" people who want to live, how dare they? And, oh, those precious tax dollars. We talk about ways to freeze it, make it go away, granting Russia a golden ticket to return for round two. How to avoid that? Nobody cares. Everyone just wants us to finally shut up. And to stop demanding security guarantees. NATO is for grown-up countries, not for the losers who were thrown to the Soviets as a chew toy after WW2, while others used the time we spent under occupation to develop and grow. Here, you're probably expecting a conclusion or at least a plea. But it's just a disappointed rant. Vatniks were right after all. The world used us and now just watches us die. And if the coin of destiny fell so that I'm the one you watch, at least I want you to know how it feels.
