Playing some Resident Evil Requiem this morning. The game is great but I just wish it infused pixels with photoreal lighting and materials, bridging the gap between rendering and reality alas unplayable for now

@Cromwelp Really? That was the second best part of the entire game if you ask me. What... didn't you like about it? Areas that loop around, plenty of upgrades to find and buy thanks to all the points that stack up, the tilted building, etc. The research area though, now that sucked.

Enjoyed and finished Resi 9. I could've done without the first half of the 'city' mission (no spoilers), but it's definitely pretty strong. That said, I think 4 and 7 are stronger respectively than the combination of the two. But damn if it doesn't win best Game Direction.

While I am not as hot on it as something more my tempo (Still Wakes the Deep, Penumbra etc) I do think it is one of the best directed games of the last decade, at least. Aside from a slow final chapter, the attention to every detail is staggering

Some things may be a technical marvel but they don't exist in a vacuum. Within the context of surging hardware prices, continued layoffs, and struggling output, it's really difficult to get excited. No one drop thinks it causes the flood, and all that.

I know it's all the rage to dunk on this. And admittedly they went to far with Grace Ashcroft. But you are absolutely deluding yourself if you don't think 99% of gamers are going to switch this on and grin from ear to ear.
