If you grow male brain neurones and female brain neurones on a plate, then subject them to injury via stretching, the female neurones "break" earlier and the male neurones recover quicker, because they activate a stronger and more efficient inflammatory response. Female brains are more fragile under injury conditions, and they don't recover as well.

@meowingabyss Mothers spend TOO much time with their children and raise dependent, axiety-ridden children that have never once had a moment there wasnt an authority figure to turn, until they had to step out on their own.

@cderedpanda They are. I eat way more than 1.3k calories and I’m still short. I’m just also kinda fat. No amount of calories will get me to being 6ft like my brother no matter how much I wanted it too.

At my undergrad uni they cut some major nerve in mice to stimulate infinite pain and suffering for weeks to test if removing a specific gene would stop trauma induced depression (it worked).
Apparently this is so standard it has a shorthand name: "spared nerve injury"

@GallowsTumour @hellcat10780736 @MinModulation But if you have 20k and everything you can buy is equally inconsequential, then there cannot be a waste as there are no better choices, other than maybe making more money/investing it bc making/having money is the point, not what you can spend it on.

@CroozlingCat @hellcat10780736 @MinModulation Something can both be intrinsically valuable and be wasted, those things aren’t mutually exclusive. This isn’t a perfect analogy but 20000 dollars is valuable but you can use it all on things you don’t care about or need.

Wouldn't increasing the amount of conciousness be good in this sense? (max within physical constraints?)

Excess is generally bad, Goldie locks and all that, you don’t want too little people to where we’re on the verge of extinction but you don’t want so many people if we use up all the recourses and then die to infinite expansion.
