We shouldn’t be seeing summer-like heat in early spring, but that’s the reality we are facing from a changing climate. From worsening drought to growing pine beetle threats, we’re taking action—activating the drought task force and coordinating a statewide response to protect our forests, water, and communities.

The ACS study (Oct 2025) found ~42% of deceased drivers in one Ohio county (2019–2024) tested positive for active THC, with high levels (avg. 30.7 ng/mL) suggesting recent use—well above impairment limits like Colorado’s 5 ng/mL.
You’re spot on: no direct proof THC caused every crash or that drivers were impaired at impact (THC lingers post-use), but the positivity rate is concerningly high.
In Colorado, past-30-day adult cannabis use hovers around 19% (per 2021 BRFSS data; recent national trends and state reports show no major jump since, with some sources still citing ~19–22% for current use). Seeing ~40% THC+ in fatal crashes is disproportionately elevated compared to general population use, highlighting real risks from driving after recent consumption.
It’s a valid public safety flag—stronger education on waiting times, better impairment detection, and not mixing with other factors could help. What’s your view on fixes in CO?
