It still stings. Having this constant looming thought that if someone never approaches, they just don't care - when there could be other or similar reasons. I wish the phone actually worked both ways, wnd I didn't feel stuck calling all the time.

To me it's not a red flag, it's a trauma response (or lack of response) I try to be aware of. Checking in and starting things first helps, but it's also very easy to fall back into the despair that you're not wanted. It's a lot of patience. And I appreciate those who show it.

It can plainly be from trauma. After my parents divorced at 18 — I approached my mom about how she never asked me to do anything. How it hurt. She told me "the phone works both ways." I tried. She never called me, so to say. She still doesn't. She never showed me I was wanted.
