Congratulations to Dr Weranja Ranasinghe, Prof Dickon Hayne, Prof Ian Vela, Dr Varun Buhariwalla, and research teams for their dedicated work on the AUSSIE study. The study evaluated the use of Cxbladder Triage Plus as a risk stratification tool to help reduce the need for further invasive testing in Australian patients presenting with hematuria. Enrolment is now closed and analysis is underway with a publication expected later this year. Data from the AUSSIE study demonstrates ​the consistent performance of Triage Plus in line with already-published CV evidence from the DRIVE Study. This highlights and reinforces the utility of the test for clinicians and the benefits of non-invasive testing for patients.

Dr Christopher Filson discusses key findings from a Kaiser Permanente study evaluating the real-world utility of Cxbladder Triage when incorporated into the diagnostic workflow for microhematuria. The study, the largest ever focused on the use of a urine-based biomarker in the care of patients presenting with hematuria, used a 3,353-patient risk-matched cohort (n=6,706) to determine the real-world reduction in cystoscopies and imaging (CT scans). It concluded that Cxbladder Triage safely avoided 952 cystoscopies and 70 CT scans reinforcing the previously published findings of 59% relative reduction in cystoscopies from the STRATA RCT Study. Cxbladder Triage is now included in the AUA/ SUFU Microhematuria Guideline, supported with grade A evidence.
