Nothing against Withen Philipsen’s and Fisher-Black’s chances, but seeing Red Bull and Lidl work with Ineos like that to bring back the breakaway was an incredible gift. Godon wins this sprint 99 times out of 100... and the 100th time, Pogacar wins it anyway 😂. #TDR2026

@AlexG57150 @EvoSquareYT I confirm the feeling. Once I finished the campaign and played through the scenarios, honestly, I didn’t really know what to do anymore.

@EvoSquareYT Tbh the game feels dead. I mean it feels like they gave us the game and just abandoned it. It's not the case of course, the game is not even 1yo, but weirdly it feels like the game is dead

I’m really happy that Kubis will be at the Giro d’Italia! To be honest, his spring was pretty lackluster compared with expectations, so the three weeks in Italy will be a great opportunity for him to show again what he proved capable of last year. #GirodItalia

@JasperRenema I think a podium finish is the minimum target, and it already was even before the latest news, given how little Almeida and Carapaz have shown this season.

Really curious to see how Giulio Pellizzari will do this Giro. Looks like he made another step forward this year

Wow. For me, Withen Philipsen’s performance was the most impressive one today. Sure, among the top 17 he was one of the last to crest the climb, and he made up ground on the flat, but still a 1.84m rider who ended up fighting for 5th on a stage with a 9 km climb at 10%. #TDR2026

@lgrispunk Gall finished 5th at a Tour de France. Sure, that doesn’t match Hindley’s palmares, but saying he’s never done fuck all is another thing entirely.

@JavierH4854 @laflammerouge16 The stated leader is Kulset. Whether he has any real chance of riding for a genuine GC result, especially based on what he has shown so far this season, remains to be seen. But maybe so far it has simply been a matter of building form specifically for the Giro, so we'll see.

@laflammerouge16 Maybe I’ll be proven wrong, but I don’t really believe in Kulset's chances of riding for a true GC result. It’ll be interesting to see him and his teammates in the breakaways, while Blikra could pull off a few good sprints, but I think he’s still some way off the top names.

I think that on a climb like today’s, Pogacar could find himself alone without even having to accelerate too hard. At that point, he’d have 20 km of flat road to practice for that famous “second ITT” he complained was missing 😂 #TDR2026

@cyclisme_pepite In my opinion, last year he had already arrived here in too good a shape. It was natural that by the end of the Giro he would fade. Now he is in line with what is required ten days out from the Giro. He could do better than in 2025.

Storer termine bien ce Tour Des Alpes, la forme monte tranquillement. Toujours complique pour lui 3 semaines et la régularité, le chrono lui fera mal aussi. Ca serait bien qu'il y gagne une étape.

@Darius_tramway @Arambu6 For me, at the Itzulia, the issue wasn’t so much the stage where the crash probably affected him, but the following stages, where he almost never dared to make a move (except for one stage). In the end, Johannessen reached third in the GC thanks to his breakaways.

It was expected to be a big day for French cycling, and indeed five of the top 10 places were taken by French riders, including the very 1st. Martinez (despite still finishing in the top 10), Vauquelin, and to some extent Paret-Peintre were the disappointments. #FlecheWallonne

Pogacar was probably, for many people though not for everyone, a welcome novelty after the cycling of Froome and marginal gains. I’m not so sure that Seixas, coming after the Pogacar era, is such good news for the spectacle. #FlecheWallonne

It could also mean that he’ll probably arrive at the Giro with just one race day between 29/03 and 08/05.

Which is strange in itself, considering he finished 6th and 5th in the last two years. At the moment, he’s not scheduled for Romandie either. The fact that he’s in Belgium seems to confirm that he’ll ride at least Liège on Sunday (3rd in 2023).

I was looking at Buitrago’s schedule: he’s supposed to be Bahrain's leader for the Giro, but after the first block of racing he hasn’t raced again. Absent from the Tour of the Alps, according to Strava he’s in Belgium. Yet he’s not on tomorrow’s startlist for Flèche either.

@juanin_ch The potential issue is that he’ll arrive at the Dauphiné (pardon, the Tour Auvergne - Rhône-Alpes! 😁) with only a handful of WT race days in his legs. I don’t think he could have gone for big results in Romandie, but it could have helped him build a bit more base.

@CyclingTopX He is doing Fleche and Liege then starting prep for the Tour. Without a second and long itt in Romandie, it made no sense for him. And yes, Fleche doesnt either but its part of the LBL experience. Cian as main guy for both.

If the startlist is confirmed, I’m surprised not to see Romeo at Romandie: he's raced little since his crash at Paris–Nice, and there would still be 5 weeks to prepare before the Dauphiné/Tour block. Movistar do not currently have a real leader for that race. #TourdeRomandie
