The correct answer to our Advent quiz was: They include grasses, legumes and herbs. Multi-species swards combine plant species with different strengths, allowing them to work together in the field. This approach supports efficient forage production and helps improve overall sward performance compared to single-species systems 🌱

A positive step for climate-smart agriculture 🌱 Denmark’s Green Tripartite Agreement highlights the importance of plant breeding and long-term investment and why access to innovative tools like NGTs is key to accelerating progress towards climate-resilient crops.
Seed World Europe@SeedWorldEU

Denmark’s Green Tripartite Agreement isn’t just targets—it’s tools. The DKK 50m/year plant breeding push (from 2026) is a signal: resilient, climate-positive varieties are essential infrastructure for a lower-impact food system. @DLF_Seeds

Welcome to the fourth and final window of our Advent Calendar. Today, we turn our attention to multi-species swards, where different plant species grow together and complement each other to improve productivity, forage quality, and resilience compared to single-species swards. This post features a "Which one is true?" question. Take a look at the statements and see if you can identify the correct one. If you would like to learn more about multi-species swards, you can read the full article here: dlf.ie/seeds/multi-sp… Wishing you a Happy Fourth Sunday of Advent from all of us at DLF 🎄

The correct answer to our Advent quiz was: root system. 4turf® is more drought tolerant because it develops a larger root system through improved root architecture. This enables the turf to make more efficient use of natural water reserves and stay green for longer. To improve drought tolerance and keep your turf greener for longer, choose 4turf® varieties developed to perform under stressful conditions 🌱

The correct answer to our Advent quiz "Guess the word" was Pink snow mould. Pink snow mould also known as Microdochium patch is one of the most damaging and persistent turfgrass diseases in cool, temperate regions. It is especially problematic on high maintenance turf such as golf greens, sports pitches, and ornamental lawns, particularly in autumn, winter, and early spring. To safeguard your turf, choose 4turf® varieties as they are more resistant to Pink snow mould compared to diploid perennial ryegrass.

A powerful example of how seed innovation drives real climate adaptation🌱 This story from our Oceania team in NZ, @PGGWSEEDS and DuraVeg - PGG Wrightson Turf, is featured in our Annual Report 24/25. It showcases how tailored seed solutions help restore damaged landscapes and strengthen resilience in the face of extreme weather🌧️🛡️ Proud to see our seeds making a difference! Currently, the team is also partnering with @UCNZ and @ChristchurchCC to address soil contamination challenges in other areas.
