@mom22lappys @LBreitschopf56 NASCAR didn't ask them not to run throwbacks, they just said the overall theme of throwback weekend is going away in terms of the broadcast and all. Teams are still free to run whatever they'd like

Let's be clear about this, because there seems to be some confusion. Ricky Rudd made his Cup debut at Rockingham when he was 18 years old without driving a single stock car race at a lower level. Went straight from go-karts to the highest level of NASCAR! And turned out just fine.
