🐝 How do the movements of a bee affect how it learns about colours and patterns? As it's #WorldBeeDay (and in homage to our own Billy Bee) we're featuring this article, co-authored by @Lena_Riab (@DurBiol) as our article of the week. Read it here 👇 dro.dur.ac.uk/35832/

Hey Beekeeping Twitter! We're currently looking for volunteer speakers for some society events next term. Are you a beekeeper? A scientist who works with bees (not just honeybees!)? Someone who works with or just knows a lot about bees? We'd love to hear from you! Please RT 🐝🐝

Update 'Cosmic flowers' Our cosmic flowers (Cosmos) are doing splendidly. You might have noticed them as you come in through the main Rochester front doors! Thanks again to Mike at the botanic gardens for giving us the plants earlier this year!

Our mason bees are doing very well. 6 filled tubes! One of the bees was very obliging and made it's nest in the draw so we can see it - amazing how much pollen is with each egg.
