Yesterday I had the pleasure of speaking at the @Deakin Female Physiology and Performance Group meeting. The presentation was about sex differences during military load carriage. This research is a stepping stone for better outcomes for female military personnel.

We at @LaTrobe_SPAN have collected a rich biomechanical data set on the @VicInstSport Archery athletes. The data will assist in determining differences when shooting the target when: 1) placed 5 m or 70 m away from the athlete, and 2) pre and post a training session.

@MickleKaren Yes it is interesting! We have hypothesised that the increase in VO2 on the TM is due to the greater cadence, and difference in mechanical properties and absorption properties of treadmill and overground surfaces.

@DVickeryHowe I found this quite interesting - any hypothesis why? I thought the reduction in knee and ankle moments during loading and push-off may have reduced O2 consumption. Something in swing perhaps?
