and sometimes, many years down the line, you'll get an email telling you a fic has been updated after 7 years. most of the time, you won't tho. But some of my fav fics are unfinished, and you know what? it's okay. you can still enjoy what you get

my take on reading (or not) in-prog fics is that some people need to ease up on treating writers and fic like instant gratification machines. “what if it never gets finished?” then it never gets finished. more importantly: what can you enjoy about or learn from what’s there?
