Headcanon #odette never had interest in music or anything having to do with it, until she went to one of #vodyanitsa performance and she fell in love with her voice, and that's why she became an ballerina, she hopes that her dancing interests vodyanitsa. (I love #vodette )

In the story, #Odette is the main princess. She was cursed by the sorcerer Rothbart and can only be human at night. By day, she turns into a white swan on the lake

#Odette became world-famous because of the ballet "Swan Lake" - Лебединое озеро. It was composed by Pyotr Tchaikovsky in 1877 and premiered at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. It’s one of the most famous Russian ballets ever.

#Odette is a name of French origin. It comes from "Oda", an old Germanic name meaning "wealth" or "fortune", with the French diminutive "-ette" at the end. So: "little Oda".

It was thanks to @vodetteCEO that I discovered that vodyanitsa was a Rusalka, if she didn't explain to me and sent me a wiki page about Rusalka I would never have known this, tysm

In northern Russia, the rusalka was also known by various names such as the vodyanitsa

Why is no one talking about vodyanitsa and melusines possibly being connected? "In Slavic folklore, the rusalka is a female entity(...). It has counterparts in other parts of Europe, such as the French Melusine." Vodyanitsa is probably a Rusalka(I'll explain why on my next post)
