The American and Iranian delegations are unable to reach an agreement. Talks in Islamabad have been ongoing for over five hours, and Pakistani sources are not ruling out the possibility that they will continue late into the night and even continue on Sunday.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir are personally present in the negotiating room.

The two sides are avoiding direct dialogue. Instead, the US and Iranian delegations are exchanging written messages through Pakistani intermediaries.

Hundreds of journalists have gathered around the building where the talks are taking place. Food has been provided for them—free coffee, a curry buffet, and barbecue.
"As we enter the fifth hour of observation, journalists are whiled away the time with snacks. There's plenty of free coffee, as well as a curry and barbecue buffet for lunch and dinner," CNN reports.
