“If a student can decode a word competently but doesn’t know what it means, it doesn’t matter. Background knowledge needs to be part of the program. This curriculum does that effectively,” Nancy Scharff said. #KnowledgeMatters💙 chalkbeat.org/philadelphia/2…

Enjoyed engaging in Day 1 of the seminar today, and particularly enjoyed Nathan Towney’s session on the importance of cultivating a culture of engagement and belonging in schools. So many golden key takeaways to bring back to school. @NSWSLI

So many take aways from @adam_voigt’s ‘The Art of School Culture Leadership’ session. Language is important. Culture is the collective noun for behaviours you encourage or tolerate. A really worthwhile session if you have the opportunity. Very much hoping he makes it to the GC.

@teachNSW I so wish that this was around when I was a third year uni student. This would have been such an incredible opportunity and experience. I would love to have had the chance to do this.

Proud of one of my best friends and incredible past colleague @_djhall who has secured himself a substantive DP role. Keep kicking goals Mr Hall, we all knew from the beginning that you were destined for big things. And what an incredible asset you will be to your new school.
