Why is it not "....kills 30 people" basically the 30 can be said to be just figures without a human subject....

I remember when I was dating this particular person. He was unreachable for days. I think his number was blocked. So, I came to this app (X) when I wasn't serious about it. I searched for the page of that particular network and lodged a complaint about the person's number not going through.
I said, "please, unblock this number 090.... it has not been reachable for days"😂
