To Coach Cal’s point, High Point is a mid-major in the metrics. Not in the money. I’ve called numerous games at High Point. It is a gated campus with a country club vibe. Its on-campus facility is a mini-NBA arena, unmatched at their level, and better than many in the power conferences. The investment in the program allows them to mitigate churn by retaining some talent and replenishing the rest. This is High Point:

As a comic reader no. Ian Flynn and Evan Stanley are both really strong writers (hell Flynn is one of my favorites up there with Mark Waid and Erik Burnham). This discourse doesn’t come from comic readers it’s just angry Sonic fans complaining that it doesn’t match their view.

The Department of Player Safety is doing absolutely nothing to dispel the belief that: a) it is doing a poor job protecting players b) there is no Panthers bias That hit could’ve paralyzed Zary. This will 2 light suspensions given severity of actions in last 2 weeks.

I’ve never seen the hockey world so united on the Greer hit being a lengthy suspension. It was a lay up for Parros to gain back some grace by bringing the hammer down on him. But as I guess we all should have expected, the DOPS continues to be bad at their jobs

That Parros presser honestly did more harm than good. He shrugged off complaints/concerns & doubled down on a poor system that doesn’t protect its stars. He isn’t cut out to be the head of @NHLPlayerSafety & it’s as clear as day. This should be his last season in this position.

NHL DoPS head George Parros responding to Connor McDavid's call for an examination of the suspension process: “We sweat over these decisions and pour over these decisions every night, all season long. We have a process in place that’s consistent, and we have a team that works for me, and together with me, that evaluates all these plays. A very experienced team, a veteran team. Guys that have been there since the beginning of the department. Not to mention all the former players that have a large set of experiences playing NHL games, accolades. Some of the best guys that have played the game work for this department help make decisions. So, our process, I feel very confident in. We’ve got great guys who make these decisions, and I think the players should be confident in this team to do so.”
