The Deputy Chief of the @drps_official used a racial slur during a meeting with Black officers. No matter what justification was used, it was inappropriate and unacceptable that ANY public servant use language meant to demean and dehumanize our Black community. #EnoughisEnough

Without any further context, your letter has only one possible answer; it’s racism. These accusations are inflammatory and divisive. Do better.

That approach will best serve the organization and everyone within it.  It’s fairly basic; who said it, what was said, what was the context and what was the intent?

At approximately 10:30 pm on August 20th 2024 a member of the Sarnia Police Service was stabbed while responding to a person in crisis call. The officer, a 13-year veteran of the SPS received multiple stab wounds and was transported to hospital by EMS. He is expected to recover from his injuries. Incredibly dangerous incident which ended only when officers pinned the suspect vehicle.
