Human activity is having a catastrophic impact on life on our planet. Climate change, endless population growth and unsustainable land, water & energy use are causing a 6th mass extinction of innumerable species. A concerted effort is needed to restore nature & halt this decline.

I'm a linguist, not a lawyer, so I've no idea what the courts will make of the merits of this pre-trial application. But if it fails, and the matter goes to a full hearing, the case will certainly be one to watch. And Senator Craughwell will have done the public some service. 5/5

This is only about saving face. No credible case can be made that the examination by a court of an alleged defence agreement, the broad scope of which is already public knowledge, presents any such threat. The State cannot expect the courts to take such a claim at face value. 4/5
