Breaking News: Major Scandal underway as the LDS Church was exposed for its (checks notes) financial planning and fiscal responsibility. Film making experts demand God abolish the law of tithing.
Furkan Gözükara@FurkanGozukara

Absolute insanity. An expert filmmaker exposes how the Mormon Church is hoarding a staggering 350 billion dollars and buying up massive amounts of American land while still demanding money from its followers. The religious corporate greed is terrifying.

All I ever see is “who do you want to see win the Masters this year?” “Who you got winning?” Boring. Tell me who you would really hate to see wear the green jacket on Sunday.

@vashikoo @RegalOutlier There needs to be more context. Was it improvised each take? Was it improvised the first time and then they kept repeating it? It’s hard to believe that each take it was completely improvised.

Director Robert Altman breaks down how he crafted an 8-minute "oner" with no cuts to start THE PLAYER (1992). They filmed 15 takes using 11 microphones to nail the choreography and blocking in this shot. The dialog was completely improvised.

@vashikoo No where in this commentary does Altman say the dialogue was completely improvised. In fact, for a shot like this it would be absurd to think so.

Top 3 most overrated food or beverages in sports: 1. Mint Julep, Kentucky Derby. 2. Pimento Cheese Sandwich, Masters. 3. Strawberries & Cream, Wimbledon.

I always thought this was the coolest thing until somebody snuck a phone in last year and did a full TikTok review of the menu and the quality was downright dumpster TRASH. Pinmento cheese was 2 slices of wonder bread and one slice of cold cheese. Completely ruined it for me.

I think some works in the finale but a lot doesn't. I get they wanted to bring back "all the classic characters" and they did go big with it, it just felt like it missed the mark. Making it a clipshow right after another clipshow was silly. People wanted to see one more adventure. One more missed communication. One more scheme. One more time where the stories interconnected. Instead, its a story where the characters a locked in one place and get sent to prison. Again, some of it does work (like the button callback) but it just falls flat and its not funny. I actually brainstormed a bit of "what would make a better finale?" So hear me out on this: In the finale Susan's parents are finally after George seeking restitution for the murder of Susan. George realizes there's only one way out of this mess. He has to fake his own death. Who helps him fake his own death none other Kramer and the infamous George Sacamano. At the end of the first half hour George fakes his death. In the second half hour it takes place 10 years later. George comes out of hiding and at this point Jerry and Elaine are married with kids. All of this is played up to ridiculousness. And in the final 10 minutes it gets all revealed that this was a dream sequence. Going back to Season 7 Episode 22. George had been dreaming for two seasons and everything in Seasons 8/9 (and Susan's death) did not happen. Jerry picks up George from the rest home. George talks about what happened and worries that if he gets married he's going to be tied down etc. They then can have the button conversation to wrap up the series. Normally "dream sequences" are a gamble. This I think would work as it would negate all the complaints people have about seasons 8/9 being "too crazy".

Since I’m also doing sitcom takes now, let’s talk about the Seinfeld finale. It was widely panned at the time and isn’t remembered well. At the same time, not sticking the landing is largely irrelevant to Seinfeld’s legacy. The episodes standalone and there’s no…(1/3)

One of the hardest lessons I had to learn in marriage: A few years into living in our house I noticed that a lot of our doors would squeak and creek. So I spent 4 hours one Saturday popping every single pin out of every hinge, sanding it, greasing it, and replacing it. At the end of the day I asked my wife "have you noticed anything different about the house?" She thought about it and said "not really..." I said "I fixed all the squeaky door hinges so they are as quiet as the butter they imitate" She said "the doors were squeaking?" And that was the end of the conversation. She never said thank you or praised my efforts. I let that fact simmer and fester. Over the course of 3 days I grew more and more irritated by that. So I eventually talked to her about it and this was her reply: "how many times have you noticed that I folded your clothes and placed them in your drawers? How many times have you noticed I made the kids lunch while you were at work? I don't do things for praise, I do them because they need to be done." She floored me. She was 100% right. We do what we do in our home and marriage because they need to be done, not to gain praise. It was either, we stoically fulfill our duty, or we equally praise every single effort the other makes. Only one of those will lead to a lasting marriage.

Unfortunate that the ratio of male to female hosts for SNL UK isn’t equal at this point into the first series.
