After determining this person’s position and proximity to the French couple, I have deemed the information they gave me to be credible enough to share publicly in the event that something happens. @DefiningWealth Been there done that. Great experience but not worth it in the long run. What people don’t realize is that when you have so little free time you spend a lot more on convenience (takeout, uber, dry cleaning, maid, etc.)

I have a buddy who makes $250k but: - Works 8-5 M-F then eats dinner - Then works 7p-2a M-TH - 8-10 hours weekend work - About 90 hours of total work per week - Phone on you 24:7 even on days off - Responses are expected ASAP 7 days a week Is that worth the $250k?

@bjpivonka Yea if you worked that and deployed capital correctly for 5-10 years you could retire. Especially considering his income would likely continue to go up over time. But the stress and expectation and hours would likely remain.

@DefiningWealth Short term Long term he needs to be cheap and just deploying as much of that capital as possible into things that can set him free….even if on a lower salary.

@guyfactory Sure that could be a part of it. A big part even. But that’s not guaranteed and from what’s he’s told me, the hours really don’t change and neither does the stress level and expectations.

@theficouple I know some people would k*ll for $250k I imagine the cleaner who is working two 40 hour jobs making $70k But at the same time, there’s a definite trade off with working that much time. I guess it’s just situational.
