@_cream_gravy I liked 2016 but felt like it was too easy to rely on the same two or three weapons and make the game boring. Eternal pushed for an aggressive playstyle that I really loved.
Some people preferred the way I thought was “boring”, and hated Eternal.
Depends on the player, I guess.

The answer is because it tastes good, it makes you feel good, it lowers inhibitions which can be helpful in social situations and creative pursuits. (There's a reason a lot of writers drink)
And most importantly, you don't have to get blackout drunk, you can just have one or two drinks and call it a day.
