20 trainees representing 15 countries will take the lead in the use of drones in desert locust control operations in their countries under the supervision of regional bodies and the manufacturer. @DesertLocustCRC

The aim is to integrate drone technology into field operations, moving from the pilot phase to capacity building and institutionalization & will ensure the sustainable, safe, and effective use of this technology to support food security & protect agricultural resources.

Happening Now. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources of the Sultanate of Oman, in cooperation with CRC, CLCPRO, the Inter-regional first-training course on the use of Drones in Desert Locust Control Operations, is starting NOW

وتناول اللقاء أهمية تعزيز التعاون الإقليمي لمواجهة الآفات العابرة للحدود، وفي مقدمتها الجراد الصحراوي، ودعم إدخال واستخدام التقنيات الحديثة، بما في ذلك الطائرات المسيّرة، في أعمال المسح والمكافحة، بما يسهم في تعزيز منظومات الإنذار المبكر وحماية الأمن الغذائي في المنطقة

في اللقاء، جرى استعراض دور الهيئة في دعم الدول الأعضاء وتعزيز العمل المشترك في إدارة ومكافحة الجراد الصحراوي، إضافة إلى الدور الريادي لجمهورية مصر العربية في منظومة مكافحة الجراد الصحراوي

تشرف الأمين التنفيذي لهيئة مكافحة الجراد الصحراوي في المنطقة الوسطى بلقاء معالي السيد علاء فاروق، وزير الزراعة واستصلاح الأراضي بجمهورية مصر العربية

ناقش الخبراء والباحثون والأكاديميون وممثلو الصناعة ومنظمة الأغذية والزراعة تدابير المكافحة المستدامة والصديقة للبيئة، بما في ذلك المبيدات الحيوية، والأعداء الطبيعيين، ونهج الإدارة المتكاملة للآفات. @DesertLocustCRC

في اليوم الثاني من حلقة العمل الدولية "التقنيات المبتكرة للإدارة المستدامة للجراد" في معهد الحسن الثاني في أكادير، المغرب، ركز المشاركون على بدائل المبيدات الحشرية. @DesertLocustCRC

Experts, researchers, academics, and representatives from industry and FAO discussed sustainable and environmentally friendly control measures, including biopesticides, natural enemies, and integrated pest management approaches. @DesertLocustCRC

During the second day of the "Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Locust Management" international workshop at the Hassan II Institute in Agadir, Morocco, participants focused on Pesticide Alternatives. @DesertLocustCRC

تعمل الورشة على تعزيز تبادل المعرفة واستراتيجيات المكافحة المستدامة والتعاون المؤسسي مع تقديم سياسات تستجيب لتغيرات المناخ وبناء القدرات المتخصصة ورفع مستوى الوعي حول الإدارة المستدامة للجراد.

سيُدير الجلسات علماء ومتخصصون رائدون من جميع أنحاء العالم، وسيقدمون أبحاثًا واكتشافات مبتكرة. كما سيشارك طلاب الماجستير من برنامج إدارة الجراد الصحراوي بعرض نتائج أبحاثهم الميدانية التي أجروها خلال دراستهم.

تنطلق اليوم في معهد الحسن الثاني للزراعة والبيطرة بأكادير، المغرب، حلقة عمل دولية بعنوان "التقنيات المبتكرة لإدارة الجراد المستدامة"، وذلك في الفترة من 17 إلى 19 يونيو 2025، بالتزامن مع برنامج الماجستير في إدارة الجراد الصحراوي.

The workshop promotes knowledge exchange, sustainable control strategies, and institutional collaboration while delivering climate-responsive policies, building specialist capacity, and raising awareness about sustainable locust management. @DesertLocustCRC

Leading scientists & specialists from around the world will facilitate sessions, presenting innovative research & discoveries. Master's students from the DL Management program will also participate by presenting findings from their field research conducted during their studies

An international workshop titled "Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Locust Management" begins today at the Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine in Agadir, Morocco, on June 17-19, 2025, in conjunction with the Desert Locust Management Master's program.
