After, graciously being let in, she was disturbed by just how many people were in this house. This /small/ house! The air was hot and damp—and it smelled like blood in here. Just her luck. She’s trying to get into the bathroom so she can take a shower.

@Desolate_Rooms "If I had just been paying attention I could've— this wouldn't even be happening!" [She could've pushed him down the stairs. Could've hit him. Could've done something.] [She can't help but feel this might all be her fault.]

@Desolate_Rooms "He isn't. He can't be— that wouldn't be fair." [He can't be dead.] [She doesn't want to walk into the kitchen and see his bag as a memorial.]

@EgoIst_Justin (Boris begins to cry, too. He can't remember the last time he did. This house and its ecosystem.)

@Desolate_Rooms [She holds him as tightly as she can before she starts to grow scared of hurting him.] [The house feels too quiet now, it forces her to cry even more.]

@EgoIst_Justin (Boris tries to bring her in his arms as that is the only thing that still could work. Could work, he thinks, but he is trembling himself.)

@Desolate_Rooms [When the screaming stops, she can't help but think of the worst scenario.] [She knows she can't help, so she just begins to cry.]

@EgoIst_Justin "Yes." (It's not that hard to tell, but more than hard to bear the pain you hear in that teen's voice.) (He's too terrified to talk.)

@Desolate_Rooms [She hears it too. And just covers her ears. She knows that scream.] "No. No. Not Levi—" [she knows she heard gunshots, but had prayed she'd imagined them.] "That's Levi's yelling."

@EgoIst_Justin "Oh God." (He shakes. Was it screaming that he heard?)

@Desolate_Rooms "I'm sure he's alright. He's a smart kid. Yeah." [She doesn't even believe herself.]

@EgoIst_Justin "I don't know." (He regrets telling Justin. Now she'll suffer with him. Boris can't keep a shut mouth, can't he?)

@Desolate_Rooms "What?!" [She sits up faster than she ever has before.] "No. No, he can't— Where is he?"

@EgoIst_Justin "Levi kept denying he had your gun, but here under the armchair, I... found his note. Saying he's sorry."

@Desolate_Rooms "Is something wrong?" [She'll be in and out of sleep it seems. She's already accepted that fate.] [Some sleep is better than no sleep, at least.]

@EgoIst_Justin (Fuck. Boris has already left the kid in the bathroom. Is it not too late to talk to him again?) (He feels like he must look after Justin, but Levi. Jesus fucking Christ. He's not sleeping tonight.)

@Desolate_Rooms [It's a very simple note, the handwriting is messy; 'I'm sorry, please don't get mad at me.']

@Desolate_Rooms [A piece of paper sticks out among the other pages. A note, maybe?]

@EgoIst_Justin (Boris raises an eyebrow. Something about this feels wrong.) (He takes the book. There's no reason for Levi to leave it there except that perhaps he lost it.)

@Desolate_Rooms [A single book lays underneath the armchair; 'Spock's World.'] [One of Levi's many Star Trek novels.]

@EgoIst_Justin (Boris is tired and would gladly sleep if not for one detail.) (A voice in his head makes him check beneath the armchair, just in case.)

@Desolate_Rooms [And it's always hard to stay awake when you're underneath a blanket.]

@EgoIst_Justin (There's no words he can say to comfort, so he sits down next to Justin and holds her.)
