If tomorrow sucks, #WrestleMania is dead as we know it. All the extra fun stuff like surprises, cameos, and backstage interviews have been replaced by ESPN ads, Applebees commercials, video packages, and announcer yapping. Corporate dipshits screwing with creative. 4 hour show, about an hour 20-ish of wrestling. Two hours of bullshit. The talent works hard, none of this is on them, but these matches are pretty typical for TV or PPV. I'm not asking anyone to go out and k*ll themselves, this ain't AEW, but there used to be a Mania-match feel that was absent from most of Saturday's matches. Night 2 has potential, but we're still going to have APPLEBEES COMMMERCIALS. Mania can definitely still have it's moments (congrats Bianca), production and entrances are badass, but that Mania day feeling inside is gone. It's like how McDonalds used to look in the 80s/90s compared to the gray box of shit it's become now. That's what this has done to my nostalgia. Brag about your gates and your viral moments all you want, but back in the day even the bad WrestleManias still felt like WrestleMania. Y'all have absolutely murdered that feeling. Thanks, @WWE. As a fan of 44 years I can't tell you what that means to me.

Liv/Stephanie being like 6 minutes in the semi main of a stadium show for the women’s title is unacceptable. I can live with an undercard of brisk matches if it escalates and the business end of the card is given the space and structure to be actual proper main events. There should’ve been an additional couple mins of wrestling at the start, and Vaquer should’ve kicked out of the oblivion, you let the crowd rumble more, and the go back and forth for a couple more minutes. This is nuts.

AEW’s storytelling rewards paying attention. If you've been paying attention, then you would've noticed that Darby Allin has been set up to beat MJF for a while now. - Darby beat Mox, then ran through the Death Riders - He’s been undefeated in singles action in 2026. - March 11: Kyle Fletcher grows suspicious that Don Callis and MJF are working together on something. - March 18: Darby beats Gabe Kidd in a Coffin Match and cuts a promo after, saying, “Maxwell Jacob Friedman, I’m coming.” - March 18: While MJF is set to face Kenny Omega, his bigger concern is Darby. He pays the Don Callis Family to handle the Darby problem. He’s already looking ahead, confident he can beat Kenny. - March 25: The Don Callis Family take out Darby for Max, because that's the guy Max fears the most. - April 1: Darby cuts another promo, calling out MJF and telling him he’s scared. - April 8: The clearest sign that Darby was the one. He cuts a promo laying out exactly why he wants to win the AEW Championship. - April 12: He challenges MJF after beating Andrade at Dynasty. - April 15: The entire episode is built around telling you that Darby is the guy...and he wins the AEW Championship. None of this was surprising, if you were watching.

When you've got the center halves who have the ball, you typically see them on the halfway line. They're playing it around. The midfielders should be the ones playing those penetrative passes in the middle of the pitch. He rarely gets those balls because of low blocks and things of that nature. But he's always got to ensure in his mind, like, I need to expect that they're going to do it. That was one of the moments where that's where he wants to receive it. Back to goal, can turn right away and then get his shot off. That's where he needs to be."
