It was a privilege to take part in the launch of this year’s Disability, the Bible and the Church Conference (DBCC), spearheaded by Hope Mobility Kenya in collaboration with leading churches and partner organisations across Kenya. This initiative is a call to move from awareness to action, to confront the stigma surrounding disability within our society. The 5th Administration continues to advance inclusion through the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2025; a transformative law signed by President William Ruto that safeguards rights to education, employment, healthcare and political participation, while strengthening representation of PWDs in governance. Complementing this is the Joint Disability Inclusion Strategy (2025–2027), which provides a clear roadmap for embedding disability inclusion into the fabric of our economy, politics and digital space. Being “Included at the Table” means more than presence. It means recognising persons with disabilities as leaders, innovators and teachers not merely congregants or beneficiaries. It requires that we move beyond a charity mindset toward participation, partnership and co-creation. I encourage each one of us, in our own spaces, to mobilise our networks and invest in this vision: a Kenya where every citizen — regardless of ability — has both a seat at the table and the opportunity to help shape our national transformation. #Inclusivity #DBCC @Ncpwds

Hope Mobility Kenya is a charitable organization that fabricates and distributes custom-made mobile devices in Kenya and the region. Since inception, they have donated over 20,000 devices in the country.

Kenya is set to host the first Diversity and Inclusion Conference which is aimed at bridging knowledge gaps that continue to alienate Persons living With Disabilities (PWDs) in the country.

The journey to lead a national conversation on social and economic inclusion began today as we held a media breakfast engagement ahead of the Disability, the Bible and the Church Conference (DBCC) slated for May 21st and 22nd. 1/3

The conference anchored by Hope Mobility Kenya – a will bring together policymakers, faith leaders and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to chart a more coordinated and practical path towards a socially and economic inclusive society.
