Mass poisoning in public spaces using ricin - NIA chargesheets 3 in ISIS-linked bio-terror plot At the centre is Dr. Syed Ahmed Mohiuddin, an MBBS graduate from Hyderabad. • His residence was allegedly converted into a makeshift lab • Ricin was prepared from castor seeds • Foreign handlers were guiding the operation Main accused: Dr. Syed Ahmed Mohiuddin (Hyderabad) Co-accused: Azad and Mohammad Suhel The case broke open in November 2025. Mohiuddin was intercepted at a toll plaza with illegal weapons and suspicious material. That arrest led investigators to a wider network. • Azad and Suhel allegedly collected cash and weapons from a dead-drop in Rajasthan • Delivered them in Gujarat for Mohiuddin • Stayed in touch with handlers and managed logistics NIA says Suhel played a key role, handling funds, coordinating movement of weapons, and recording oath of allegiance. The promise made to Mohiuddin: a bigger role in ISIS operations in South Asia. The case is now before the NIA Special Court in Ahmedabad. Further investigation is ongoing.
